Bio - imager

My imagery is a visual expression of my spiritual and emotional connection with the world around me. Becoming one with my subject, feeling its energy and experiencing its life force, I strive to gain an intimacy that forms the basis of my creative images.  Going beyond the normal limitations of the camera, I apply artistic photographic techniques and digital enhancements to create fine art that often reflects a dreamlike or ethereal quality. Some become one of a kind multi media art pieces.

I have always had a special fascination with flowers. Photography allows me to explore their world intimately, revealing their essence through a macro lens.  Whether in my own backyard or visiting one of the many beautiful gardens in the Pacific Northwest, it is when in the company of flowers I am happiest.

My work has been recognized nationally and locally including 1st Place Red River EX Salon as well as 1st place gold medal landscape projected.  I have won numerous medals and awards through the Canadian Association of Photographic Arts (CAPA) and photography club sponsored competitions.  Some of my images have been published in Beautiful British Columbia magazine as well as in Canadian Camera who also featured my article and images on macro photography.

My creative photography has been influenced by studies with some outstanding photographers, notably Freeman Patterson, Andre Gallant, Denise Ippolito, Jackie Kramer, Kathleen Clemons, and Andrea Guilichx.

I am active in the photographic community and was recognized by CAPA with Associate Fellowship honours.  I enjoy teaching photography and am a frequent guest presenter for photography clubs in the Vancouver area.  Most rewarding for me is sharing my knowledge and passion for macro and floral photography.

Throughout the year, I hold half to two day photography workshops. Scheduling for 2020 is currently in process and workshops will be announced as they are finalized.
